Riflessioni critiche su “L’ordine del tempo”

Claudio Borghi (Liceo Scientifico Belfiore, Mantova)

In the light of Rovelli’s essay The order of time we propose some critical remarks on the operational definition of time in the theoretical frameworks of relativity, quantum mechanics, quantum gravity and thermodynamics. We have identified two different theoretical approaches which are probably incompatible. If we could experimentally prove that relativistic time can only be measured by particular devices, equivalent to atomic clocks, while thermal time can only be measured by thermal clocks, nonequivalent to atomic clocks, we could radically recast the problem of time.
